Get ready to feast your eyes! I had the honor of documenting Alex & Patrick’s journey from pregnancy to birth of their son, Maddox. Patrick is a Louisiana native and high school friend of my husband, Kramer, so it’s really special that we all ended up in Atlanta (and the guys at the same company to boot). We are so pumped to have these friends in ATL and their sessions could not have been prettier.
The Braggs had a long road to parenthood, and Alex has graciously been open about her struggles with infertility. Keep reading and be inspired! There’s a happy ending! ;)
“After I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome and learned it was one of the most common causes of female infertility, we decided to pursue fertility treatment options in the summer of 2017. Over the next year, we had many tests, consults, and different conservative measures that did not result in pregnancy. After our 3rd failed Intrauterine Insemination cycle, we opted to begin In Vitro Fertilization at Emory Reproductive Center with Dr. Jennifer Kawwass. Our first embryo transfer resulted in pregnancy, but we miscarried shortly thereafter.
Everything was "perfect" leading up to the transfer, and we were devastated and confused. I wish I could say there weren't days that I questioned God or days that weren't filled with so much doubt and anger, but that's just not the reality with grief. Although there were dark days following the miscarriage, we knew we had to give up control and continue to trust in the Lord's plan for us. We transferred our second embryo in December of 2018, and our sweet Maddox was born August 27, 2019.
He's our greatest blessing and we are just so thankful for him. Our journey to him hasn't been easy, and it's not what we could have ever imagined it would be, but we are so grateful for the Lord's faithfulness. He never leaves us, He loves us more than we can ever imagine, and His plans for us are always good.

For their summer maternity session, Alex wore a beautiful lace gown straight out of a story book, and we even had a few horses walk up to greet her at the fence. They say animals can sense when you’re pregnant right?!
We used Alex’s crocheted baby blanket in baby Maddox’s close ups. Family heirlooms make the sweetest props!
