I so clearly remember sitting in my parent’s living room over holiday break 2013 toying around with a business Facebook page while watching Christmas Vacation (probably not for the first time that week). My mom leaned over and asked what I was working on…that was when I decided I was going to put my photography business “out there”. After years of being too scared to take it seriously, and Kramer continuously encouraging me to do something with this “hobby” that continued to pique my interest, I leapt in.
So many kind and gracious friends and family hired me in those first years and things took off. I look back on those photos and cringe at many of the technical mistakes, over-edits, and tilted perspectives (you know, the photos that make you turn your head to the side), but I know the growth we’re experiencing now wouldn’t have been possible without those pivotal learning years.
Fast forward five years and here we are!
I hired Emily as a temp in the fall of 2017 to help survive busy season, and she was such a rockstar that I hired her as my very first employee in January 2018. In a little over a year, we’ve been able to accommodate more clients than ever while trying new things like a branding update, special product offerings, image competitions, social media/blog collaborations, and an expanded giving program.

It’s been a wild and fun ride, and I’m excited to invest in my clients more over the next couple years in a thoughtful and individualized way. As a part of that effort, we are retiring mini sessions in 2019 and fall session availability will be reserved for current baby plan members only. We are looking forward to giving our clients the best experience possible during this busy and beautiful time of year. Because of this, we’re encouraging early booking for those annual family photos.
